|Calibration Engineer II
Coordinates and performs diesel engine calibration for base engine, after treatment and on-board diagnostic systems in the test cell and on vehicle. Participates in the development of functionality to meet future regulations. Verifies test cell calibrations along with calibrating vehicle-specific calibrations in vehicles. Communicates calibration changes with other calibrators. Reviews new technology and learns latest emission test technology. Keeps informed of current legal issues regarding engines, emissions, and diagnostics. Investigates other manufacturers’ engines and facilities.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent directly related work experience including a minimum of three years automotive engine development experience. Coursework in internal combustion engine and diesel engine emissions or OBD calibration experience preferred. Strong knowledge in basic engine and electrical engineering, diesel and gasoline engine operation knowledge with good understanding of Emissions and/or OBD related government regulations, as well as diesel engine emissions or OBD calibration experience. Must have strong PC Skills in Windows applications, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize/develop project goals and time schedules in area of expertise. Enhanced report writing skills and analytical ability along with relevant skills in engine/software development as demonstrated by scholarly/industrial achievements required. Requires rare instances of lifting light to heavy material (5-60 lbs.). Must be able to climb in and out of medium duty trucks and work in hot, cold, and high altitude extremes. Position requires 20-30% travel including overnight stays.
