Supports and prepares corporate tax filings for income, personal property, sales & use tax, license renewals, and miscellaneous returns/reports. Supports federal, state, and Canadian income tax projects including income tax returns, provisions, and estimated income tax. Supports sales and use projects including collection of data needed for sales and use tax returns, processing and filing of returns, and providing and maintaining tax exemption certificates. Prepares filings of miscellaneous returns and forms including license renewal and annual reports for various jurisdictions. Assists with preparation of personal property tax renditions and processing related payments. Assists with required Canadian miscellaneous reportings, audits, and levy notices. Prepares account analysis for Tax Department general ledger accounts and provides recurring and year-end accounting entries in support of the Accounting Department. Performs miscellaneous job related duties and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline; minimum three years accounting experience, some experience in tax preferred; some knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); general knowledge of federal and state income tax laws and regulations and other tax laws and processes. Good PC skills in Windows applications including Excel and Word; proficient in SAP accounting system preferred; excellent verbal and written communications skills; tax research skills desirable; strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
