|Product Design Engineer I
Evaluates technical contents and makes effective decisions considering a wide range of alternatives for leading problems, improving quality, reducing cost, and keeping schedules. Reports activities and decisions to Sr. Engineer or management for approval and direction. Coordinates with suppliers or other parties to achieve targets on schedule. Communicates effectively with ISZJ engineering, suppliers, production facilities, and other parties based on teamwork concepts. Prepares design drawings as necessary and evaluates vendor drawings. Maintains project and schedule control. Assists and consults with other ISUZU departments and companies providing technical documentation to support their activities. Studies competitors’ vehicles and evaluates them for engineering research.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline. Minimum one year experience in automotive product design engineering. Development process of automotive parts. Automotive parts knowledge for material (metal, plastic, textile), production process, requirement, test method, regulation, and development process. Familiar with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard and Society of Automotive Engineers/American Standard Test Method. CAD/CAM and PC computer system usage and maintenance. Proficient PC skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills. Strong ability to sketch and read drawings. Employee must be able to perform occasional light lifting (5-25 lbs) and on rare occasions, heavy lifting (60 lbs) Must be able on rare occasions to bend, crawl, climb, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level in the performance of job duties.
