Senior Vehicle Quality Control Engineer
Responsible for vehicle buy off and incoming inspection from Tier One Assembly Company (Spartan) and initiating, participating and driving Quality Corrective Action programs. Also responsible for ensuring all products are compliant to engineering, packaging and quality specifications. Ensures supplier quality actions conform to Isuzu quality requirements through supplier audits and visits. Quality support in all functions related to receiving, storage, delivering, and manufacturing processes. Works parallel to Tier One repair department technicians to identify, repair and report defects. Provides material area error troubleshooting and replacement support in manufacturing. Also works parallel to Tier One production management to troubleshoot manufacturing processes. Develops quality corrective action programs related to production material. Investigates defective material at the warehouse storage facility. Coordinates Plant Trial Runs (PTR) as an integrated function of the engineering change action. Provides order system support for production processes. Supports manufacturing engineering with Engineering Change Requests (ECR) functions, and supports the manufacturing audit process with training and guidance.
Requires Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering or equivalent directly related work experience. Minimum five years experience in materials management, preferably in a vehicle manufacturing oriented operation; auto industry experience required.
Experience with warehousing, material management as well as scheduling practices and procedures. Knowledge of quality control techniques, blueprints and engineering drawings, material storage and handling systems. Working knowledge of basic ICC, NLRB and OSHA regulations and SPC functions desired. Proficient PC skills in Windows applications. Excellent written and verbal communications skills including preparing and conducting training and business presentations as well as writing clear and concise reports and recommendations. Must be able to read and interpret material listings, engineering drawings as well as transportation and assembly documents/specifications. Ability to maintain accurate data files as well as possess effective planning and scheduling techniques.
