Vehicle Service Engineer
Ensures coordination of technical information from various distributors. Prepares reports and submits field investigation results to manufacturers. Investigates warranty parts returns and provides defect reports to manufacturer. Prepares and makes arrangements for Field Quality Meeting (FQM) and provides necessary reports. Follows up with manufacturers/vendors for their root-cause investigation status. Provides field investigations and submits Technical Information Reports (TIR) to manufacturers in order to enhance correction and product improvement with engineering data. Continuously evaluates current productions vehicles to determine reliability and durability. Assists and makes recommendations to manufacturer production line and/or port modifications. Assists related distributors in solving any service problems to minimize customer dissatisfaction and reduce warranty cost. Analyzes warranty claim data for failure trends. Performs special product liability investigations as directed and testifies in subsequent court appearances if necessary. Assists Service Readiness group to develop labor time guide, TSB, scan tools, and workshop manual and related field corrective actions.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive Engineering and minimum of three years automotive field service experience; mechanical background. Also requires knowledge of diesel engines, fuel electronics system, and exhaust gas after treatment electronics system. Proficient PC skills in Windows applications, excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Must also be able to maintain a good driving record and driver license Class C or better with knowledge of commercial regulations. This position requires minimum of 25-30% travel including overnight stays and possible international travel.
